Gorontalo Posyandu Team Delivers Milk Aid to 30 Toddlers with Stunting in Tabumela

Gorontalo’s provincial Posyandu team has distributed milk to 30 toddlers with stunting in Tabumela village, Gorontalo Regency, as part of a pilot programme addressing the condition.

Provincial Posyandu chair Nani Ismail Mokodongan and Gorontalo Regency Posyandu chair Maryam Sofian delivered the assistance directly to children targeted by the programme. Each child received eight boxes of milk, with each box weighing 450 grams.

Nani said the programme aims to reduce and ultimately eliminate stunting in Gorontalo Regency, particularly in Tabumela, the pilot-project village. She said the milk support is intended to help meet the children’s nutritional needs while supporting government efforts to lower stunting rates.

The goal is to reduce or eliminate the stunting found in Gorontalo Regency, especially in the pilot-project village of Tabumela.

The programme also involves six agencies responsible for minimum service standards. Provincial and district governments will coordinate interventions across health, social affairs, education, public works and other relevant sectors.

“God willing, this programme will have an impact on the people of Tabumela village,” Nani said. She added that the seven-month pilot is intended to address various complaints previously raised by residents. A similar pilot programme has already been carried out in Bone Bolango Regency, targeting 15 children with stunting in Langge village.
