Government steps up preparedness as floods enter from Tibet

Nepal's government is actively enhancing its preparedness as floodwaters from the Tibet region begin to enter the country. Authorities have initiated four specific measures and made extensive preparations to mitigate the potential impact of these incoming floods.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers confirmed that these measures are integral to the government's ongoing strategy for managing flood risks. This proactive approach underscores the seriousness with which the potential threat is being treated, especially given the origin of the water flow.

Simultaneously, efforts are underway to ensure the safety of communities situated in flood-prone areas. Residents living along the riverbanks in districts such as Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading are being informed and are involved in the preparedness activities. This includes potential evacuations or other necessary safety protocols.
