Chungnam Governor Kim Tae-heum has thrown a political bombshell by indefinitely postponing his registration for the upcoming June 3rd local elections. Kim Tae-heum, who was seeking re-election, expressed his profound disappointment and anger through a statement released by his campaign team. He alluded to the possibility of leaving the party, stating that he could not stand by if actions that 'go against the public conscience' were taken without 'self-reflection and repentance.' The governor's frustration stems from the fact that Jeong Jin-seok, a former presidential chief of staff, has been actively engaging in political activities within the Gongju, Buyeo, and Cheongyang region, including attending campaign events for local candidates.
