Greece launches new phase of 'Personal Assistant' program for people with disabilities

Greece has opened applications for a new phase of its "Personal Assistant" program, offering tailored support to individuals with disabilities. The program allows eligible participants to receive monthly assistance of up to 1,939 euros, with the specific amount determined by individual needs and characteristics.

The initiative aims to enhance the autonomy of people with disabilities and facilitate their integration into social and professional life. Applicants must be between 16 and 67 years old, with exceptions for individuals up to 75 in certain cases. The program is open to those with motor, intellectual, developmental, sensory, or mental disabilities, requiring a minimum disability percentage of 67% or a state of absolute disability.

To qualify, candidates must be permanent and legal residents of Greece and meet specific income criteria. The basic annual household income limit is 35,000 euros, with adjustments based on family size. This new phase follows a successful pilot program, and applications will be accepted electronically until November 27, 2026, via the platform prosopikosvoithos.gov.gr.

The "Personal Assistant" program was previously implemented on a pilot basis. This expansion aims to provide broader access to personalized support, enabling individuals with disabilities to live more independently and participate more fully in society. The application window remains open for over two years, encouraging eligible individuals to apply through the dedicated online portal.
