Greek Teachers to Receive Up to 50% Ferry Ticket Discounts for Relocation

Newly appointed teachers in Greece will benefit from significant discounts on ferry tickets as they relocate to their assigned posts for the 2026-2027 academic year. This initiative, a joint effort by the Ministries of Education and Maritime Affairs, aims to ease the transition for educators.

Several major ferry operators are participating in the program, offering reductions of up to 50%. SEAJETS and Levante Ferries Group are providing a 50% discount on both passenger and vehicle tickets. Saronic Ferries and Skyros Shipping Co. are offering a 30% discount on passenger tickets, with Skyros also extending the discount to vehicles. Karthaia N.E. Goutos Lines matches the 50% discount for passengers and vehicles.

Fast Ferries and Golden Star Ferries are offering slightly lower discounts, with 30% for passengers and 20% for vehicles. These offers are generally valid for travel between August 23 and September 11, 2026, though Karthaia N.E. Goutos Lines extends its offer throughout 2026. Some companies stipulate that discounts may not be combined with other offers or are subject to availability.
