Greece opens platform for 24.6 million euro aid to producers

Greece has opened an online portal for producers impacted by severe weather and adverse conditions to apply for de minimis aid. The support package amounts to approximately 24.6 million euros.

The application window is open until August 18. Eligible producers must submit their applications, which are also declarations of intent, exclusively through the myBusinessSupport platform using their TAXISnet credentials. A prerequisite for receiving the aid is that beneficiaries must have declared and updated their bank account IBAN on the myAADE application.

The aid targets three distinct categories of producers. The first includes rice growers nationwide who suffered damage from adverse weather in 2025, receiving 70 euros per stremma. The second category assists producers in specific regional units who experienced production losses exceeding 30% due to frost in 2021 and had not yet received compensation. This category covers crops like cherries, apples, and strawberries, with aid calculated based on acreage and projected losses.

The third group comprises farmers in designated municipal and local communities within the Ioannina regional unit who faced water scarcity issues in 2025. Aid amounts vary by crop and acreage. Professional farmers registered with the Farmers and Agricultural Holdings Registry will receive 100% of the allocated aid, while others will receive 50%. The National Investment Agency stated that payments are anticipated by August 21, 2026, following necessary checks and offsetting of any tax or social security debts.
