Greece Opens Platform for Wildfire-Hit Chios Businesses to Claim Aid

Businesses on the Greek island of Chios impacted by the 2025 wildfires can begin applying for financial assistance starting July 27, 2026. The myBusinessSupport platform, managed with the support of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), will accept applications for aid intended to help businesses recover from economic losses.

The support scheme targets private businesses of all legal forms, including sole proprietorships, that are VAT-registered and legally operating in the fire-affected areas. These businesses must have experienced a minimum 5% decrease in revenue from July to December 2025, compared to the average of the same months over the last five years.

The financial aid will range from a minimum of 3,000 euros to a maximum of 50,000 euros. This amount is calculated based on a portion of the revenue loss, adhering to the European Commission's regulations on de minimis aid.

The application period will be open until August 7, 2026. This initiative follows an initial phase where businesses expressed their interest in receiving support.
