Greek firms ink energy and infrastructure deals with Ukraine's Naftogaz

Greek companies TERNA SA and DP PUMPS GROUP have signed two memorandums of understanding with Ukraine's state gas company, Naftogaz, signaling increased cooperation in energy and infrastructure projects. The signings took place in Gdansk, Poland, during the International Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine.

The agreements build upon previous confidentiality pacts established in March during a visit by Greece's Deputy Foreign Minister, Haris Theochari, to Kyiv. This continued collaboration underscores a steady progression in bilateral ties between Greece and Ukraine.

TERNA SA's agreement with Naftogaz focuses on developing projects related to natural gas, energy storage, and renewable energy sources, particularly in the Odesa region. Concurrently, DP PUMPS GROUP's memorandum involves implementing water infrastructure projects, pumping systems for power plants, and other energy facilities.

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these accords lay the groundwork for active Greek business involvement in Ukraine's reconstruction efforts, specifically in the critical energy and infrastructure sectors. The implementation of these projects is anticipated to significantly enhance Ukraine's energy security during the ongoing conflict.
