Greek Ministry Offers Housing Subsidies to 1,120 Students in Thessaly

The Greek Ministry of Education is rolling out a housing subsidy program to assist 1,120 university students across five cities in the Thessaly region. This financial aid is specifically targeted at students who are navigating the challenges of affording student accommodation.

The cities benefiting from this initiative are Volos, Larissa, Trikala, Karditsa, and Lamia. These locations host significant student populations, and the rising costs associated with housing can present a substantial barrier to accessing higher education.

Deputy Minister of Education, Zoi Zacharaki, emphasized the program's goal: "Equal opportunities in studies also mean practical support against the cost of student housing." This statement underscores the ministry's commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not impede students' educational pursuits.
