Green light for public library construction in Chuncheon's Gangbuk area

A long-cherished dream for residents of Chuncheon's Gangbuk area is set to become a reality as the Northern Public Library project has officially received approval. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has deemed the project feasible, marking a significant step forward after previous reviews by the Gangwon Provincial Government had stalled the initiative three times. The proposed library, slated for completion in 2030, will be situated at 454-1 Udu-dong. It will feature a basement level and three above-ground floors, spanning a total area of 5,000 square meters. The project's estimated cost is 32.2 billion won. The design envisions a "library in a park" that harmonizes with nature, incorporating an open structure accessible to all citizens.
