Hanoi Appoints New Leaders Across City Departments in Major Personnel Shake-up

Hanoi's City Party Committee has initiated a series of significant personnel reshuffles, moving numerous leaders across various city departments and sectors. The announcements were made at a conference chaired by Hanoi Party Secretary Trần Đức Thắng on May 25th, detailing decisions from the Central Party Secretariat and the City Party Committee's Standing Committee regarding cadre work.

Among the key decisions, Phạm Quang Thanh, a member of the City Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee for Ba Đình Ward, has been approved by the Central Party Secretariat to join the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. The Secretariat also appointed members to the City Party Committee for the same term, including Major General Nguyễn Thành Long, Chief of the City Party Committee Office; Nguyễn Hoài Nam, President of the Hanoi People's Procuracy; Nguyễn Trọng Diện, Director of the Hanoi Department of Health; and Hoàng Anh Tuấn, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Tiến Thắng Commune.

Further appointments were announced by Lê Trung Kiên, Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Organization Department. Major General Nguyễn Thành Long will transition from his role as Chief of the City Party Committee Office to become Head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department. Nguyễn Việt Hà will step down as Secretary of the Party Committee for Gia Lâm Commune to assume the position of Chief of the City Party Committee Office. Lê Ngọc Anh, President of the Hanoi Institute for Socio-Economic Research and Development, has been appointed Secretary of the Party Committee for Gia Lâm Commune. Lê Thanh Nam will leave his post as Secretary of the Party Committee for Ngọc Hà Ward to become the Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Đỗ Thị Lan Hương will move from Deputy Chief of the City Party Committee Office to become Secretary of the Party Committee for Ngọc Hà Ward. Nguyễn Trúc Anh will transition from Secretary of the Party Committee for Sơn Đồng Commune to become Secretary of the Party Committee for Hoàn Kiếm Ward. Nguyễn Đình Trường will also move from Deputy Chief of the City Party Committee Office to become Secretary of the Party Committee for Sơn Đồng Commune. Nguyễn Mạnh Huy will leave his position as Secretary of the Party Committee for Đại Xuyên Commune to join the City Party Committee Office as a member of the policy research team. Đào Việt Long, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Construction, has been appointed Secretary of the Party Committee for Đại Xuyên Commune.
