Heat arrives in Lithuania: temperatures to soar to 28 degrees

Lithuania is set to experience a warm spell, with temperatures expected to climb as high as 28 degrees Celsius in some areas. The shift in weather comes as an anticyclone continues to influence the region, bringing generally calmer and drier conditions.

While most areas will remain dry, there is a chance of brief, light showers, especially in western Lithuania. A noticeable southwest to west wind will accompany the warmer temperatures, which are predicted to reach between 21 and 26 degrees Celsius during the day. Coastal areas are expected to be slightly cooler, around 18-20 degrees Celsius.

The forecast for Thursday night suggests little change, with clear skies and no rain anticipated. However, a weak wind and cooling temperatures could lead to fog forming in some locations during the late night and early morning hours, potentially reducing visibility. Temperatures are expected to range from 11 to 16 degrees Celsius overnight.

Thursday's daytime forecast indicates a continuation of similar weather patterns, with high pressure dominating. Skies will be partly cloudy, but significant rainfall is not expected. The arrival of a warm air mass will push temperatures higher, ranging from 23 to 28 degrees Celsius, making it the warmest day of the period.
