Heavy Rains Cause Metro Line 3 Service Suspension; Metrobús Also Affected

Strong rainfall in Mexico City has disrupted public transportation, with a significant section of Line 3 of the Metro suspending service due to flooding on the tracks. The affected stretch is between La Raza and Indios Verdes stations, a consequence of water entering the track area near the Deportivo 18 de Marzo station.

Adrián Rubalcava, the general director of the Metro's Collective Transport System (STC), announced the provisional suspension. Currently, trains on Line 3 are operating only between Universidad and La Raza stations in both directions. STC personnel are working to remove the accumulated water and ensure the safe resumption of service.

The flooding occurred after heavy rains hit the city. The Metro's official social media channels confirmed the situation, stating that trains would only run between Universidad and La Raza. The stations affected by the suspension include La Raza, Potrero, Deportivo 18 de Marzo, and Indios Verdes.

In addition to the Metro, Line 1 of the Metrobús, which runs along Insurgentes Avenue, also reported disruptions. Service is currently limited to the segment between El Caminero and Buenavista. The suspension in this line is attributed to a tree falling onto Insurgentes Norte near the 18 de Marzo station, heading towards Pachuca.

Due to the entry of water in the track area, at the height of Deportivo 18 de Marzo on Line 3, as a result of the heavy rains recorded in the city, train service is being offered provisionally from Universidad to La Raza, in both directions. For now, there is no service between La Raza and Indios Verdes.
