Hidalgo Security Forces Receive 232 New Patrol Cars and Tactical Gear

Hidalgo's security forces have received a significant boost with the delivery of 232 new patrol vehicles and tactical gear, representing a substantial investment of 336 million pesos. Governor Julio Menchaca Salazar emphasized that this initiative is a product of strategic economic planning and efficient use of public resources, designed to ensure continuous maintenance of the fleet and ongoing training for officers. This move underscores the state government's commitment to bolstering public safety and combating crime more effectively.

This is an effort of strategic economic planning, of better utilization of public resources focused precisely on ensuring continuous maintenance so that no vehicle stops, so that they are also updated in their armament and constant preparation that, without a doubt, requires a lot of dedication.

The distribution plan allocates 32 vehicles to municipal police departments, with the remaining 200 to be operated by the State Public Security Secretariat (SSPH). Salvador Cruz Neri, the state's Public Security Secretary, highlighted the positive impact of these measures, noting the certification of nearly 99% of the state police force. He also reported substantial successes in law enforcement, including the arrest of over 5,400 individuals, the recovery of more than 5,600 stolen vehicles, and the seizure of millions of liters of illegal fuel and a significant quantity of drugs.

Edgar Orlando Ángeles Pérez, head of the General Services Office, detailed that the 200 SSPH-operated units are leased for 299 million pesos, a figure that encompasses comprehensive maintenance, repairs, and operational costs. This leasing model, he explained, represents a considerable saving compared to outright purchase, which would have cost an estimated 490 million pesos. This financial prudence allows public funds to be reallocated to other vital sectors, demonstrating a commitment to fiscal responsibility alongside security enhancement.
