Ho Chi Minh City Accelerates Key Projects, Pushing Forward Ring Road 4 Progress

Ho Chi Minh City is prioritizing the acceleration of crucial infrastructure projects, notably the Ring Road No. 4 and the Ho Tram - Long Thanh airport expressway, signaling a new phase of development for the eastern region of the city and surrounding provinces. The Ring Road No. 4, a significant undertaking, will cover approximately 207 kilometers, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Tay Ninh. A 47-kilometer segment in Binh Duong is slated to commence construction in June 2025.

Following the administrative merger of Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and Binh Duong, the portion of Ring Road No. 4 within Ho Chi Minh City's jurisdiction has expanded to nearly 83 kilometers. Component project 1-1, extending over 18 kilometers, will connect Ngã tư Tóc Tiên - Châu Pha to Châu Đức bridge, bordering Dong Nai province and traversing several communes. This segment requires the acquisition of nearly 194 hectares of land, impacting over 1,000 households and organizations. Plans include the provision of 284 resettlement plots for eligible residents.

Local authorities in Tan Thanh ward are encountering difficulties due to the large number of affected households and the complex process of verifying land origins, legal documents, and land valuations under new regulations. Despite these hurdles, land inventory and compensation approval are complete, with payments expected in July 2026. Residents like Nguyen Huynh Hoang Tai express full support for the project, recognizing its long-term benefits for improved transportation, reduced congestion, and economic growth. They hope for fair compensation, transparent land verification, and well-equipped resettlement areas to facilitate a smooth transition.

Residents want the determined compensation price to be close to the market price, the land origin verification process to be transparent, and the resettlement areas to be invested with synchronous infrastructure so that residents can stabilize their lives soon. My family also hopes to be considered for suitable resettlement arrangements as many households have lived on the current land for many years.
