Son Mua Bridge Project Accelerates Towards Year-End Completion in Quang Ngai

The Son Mua Bridge and its connecting roads project in Vietnam's Quang Ngai province is accelerating towards its year-end completion, with construction now approximately 70% finished. The project faced significant delays primarily due to difficulties in land acquisition, a situation previously highlighted in reports.

However, since June 1, following the resolution of land clearance issues, contractors have intensified their efforts. The main bridge structure has been completed. Current work focuses on essential remaining components, including the 3H box culvert (4.5 x 4 meters), abutment walls, and the road foundations and surfaces on both ends of the bridge.

According to the project's management board, the compensation, support, and land clearance process is slated for completion in September 2026, which will provide the contractor with a fully cleared site for simultaneous construction. Despite this longer-term timeline for full site clearance, the immediate construction phase is progressing rapidly.

After a period of waiting for land clearance to implement the project, since June 1, the contractor has accelerated the construction of many important items, bringing the executed volume value to about 70%.

Specific targets include the completion of the 3H box culvert, abutment walls, and the relocation of low-voltage power lines and lighting systems by August 31. By the end of September, the contractor aims to complete 50% of the roadbed filling and 50% of the right-side retaining wall, along with the B400 box ditch on the right side.

With full site handover expected in September, the contractor plans to complete all remaining work in October and November. This includes finishing the retaining walls, road foundations, surfaces, and auxiliary structures. The project is officially scheduled for acceptance and operation by December 25.
