Ho Chi Minh City's An Phu Intersection Overpass Set to Open by End of July

Construction crews are accelerating work on the N4 overpass at Ho Chi Minh City's An Phu intersection, with the crucial link expected to open by the end of July. This overpass is a key component of the An Phu intersection project, designed to significantly improve traffic flow in the city's eastern corridor.

The N4 overpass will provide a direct connection for vehicles traveling from Dong Van Cong street to Mai Chi Tho street, facilitating smoother right turns towards the Xa Lo Ha Noi highway. Officials anticipate this will alleviate the chronic congestion plaguing the Mai Chi Tho axis, especially during peak hours when container trucks servicing Cat Lai port create substantial bottlenecks.

This section represents the fifth major component of the An Phu intersection project to be completed, following the opening of several underpasses and another overpass. Workers are currently focused on concrete pouring, steelwork, and asphalt paving, with many sections already showing significant progress. The overall An Phu intersection project, with an investment exceeding 3.4 trillion Vietnamese dong, began in December 2022 and aims to resolve long-standing traffic issues at a critical urban gateway.
