Hobby Pumpkin Patch Yields Astonishing Harvest in Turkey

Mehmet İslah, a farmer from Farsak Village in Osmaniye's Düziçi district, experienced a remarkable harvest from a small hobby planting of just three pumpkin vines. What began as a casual endeavor quickly transformed into an astonishing yield, with the "Tevruz kabağı," also known locally as "bal kabağı" (pumpkin), completely taking over his garden.

Each pumpkin weighs 35-40 kilos. I tried this last year too, but this year I got much more yield. I had planted 3 roots here in my small garden, and now, as you can see, it stretches very far. I even have to trim them because they don't fit in the garden.

İslah reported harvesting over a ton of pumpkins, with individual fruits weighing between 35 and 40 kilograms. These giant pumpkins are versatile, suitable for both savory dishes and sweet preparations. "I grew these pumpkins entirely as a hobby," İslah stated, expressing his satisfaction with the abundant yield. "I'm not fully aware of the market price. If there's demand, I can sell them to businesses that make desserts. Otherwise, I'll share them with friends and family."

Describing the scale of the harvest, İslah noted, "Each pumpkin weighs 35-40 kilos. I tried this last year too, but this year I got much more yield.
