Hoodlums invade Osun INEC office, cart away PVCs

An incident of violence and theft occurred at a ward collation center in Okuku, Osun State, where officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were distributing Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs). Suspected hoodlums stormed the Oyinlola DC School premises on Sunday, disrupting the exercise and making off with several packs of the vital documents.

The incident occurred at Oyinlola DC School, Ward 2, Okuku, Osun State, on Sunday. Some of us were around to collect our PVCs, and I can’t say when those hoodlums got into the premises. They shot into the air and disrupted the exercise. Some of us around fled in different directions, and they went straight to where those INEC staff put the PVCs and made away with some packs. The hoodlums involved are about eight in number.

Eyewitnesses reported that the perpetrators, estimated to be around eight in number, entered the premises unnoticed before firing shots into the air. This created panic, causing people at the scene to flee in different directions. The attackers then proceeded to where the PVCs were placed and seized multiple packs before escaping.

The Osun State Police Command confirmed the incident, with the Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, stating that the Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Gotan, strongly condemned the act. Commissioner Gotan has ordered a thorough investigation to identify, arrest, and prosecute all individuals involved.
