Idgitaf to perform original songs for "Home Sweet Loan The Musical"

The upcoming theatrical production "Home Sweet Loan The Musical" will showcase original music by solo artist Idgitaf, enriching the stage adaptation of Almira Bastari's novel. The musical is scheduled to premiere at Graha Bhakti Budaya, Taman Ismail Marzuki, in Jakarta.

Producer Cristian Imanuell explained that the song selection was closely tied to script development, a collaborative effort between scriptwriter Widya Arifianti and Head of Development for the "Home Sweet Loan" film, Yemima Krisantina. The chosen songs aim to represent the emotional journey of the main character, Kaluna, throughout the story. In this musical format, the songs serve not only as a soundtrack but also as a narrative device, acting as explanations and the backbone of the plot.

The 2.5-hour production will feature several new songs by Idgitaf. While her contribution to the film adaptation was limited to a single song, "Berakhir di Aku," she has provided more extensive material for the stage. Notable new tracks include "Cukup Nggak Cukup" (Not Enough, Not Enough), which depicts the moment of checking one's bank balance, and "Amarah Seperti Apa" (What Kind of Anger), exploring anger towards a sibling. Imanuell highlighted the special nature of the opening and closing acts, praising Idgitaf's enthusiastic collaboration during the songwriting process.

"Home Sweet Loan The Musical" is a joint production by Indonesia Kaya, Visinema, and Jakarta Art House. The musical will feature two lead actresses interpreting the character of Kaluna, offering diverse perspectives to the audience. Performances are slated to run in Jakarta from September to October 2026.
