Incheon apartment fire claims life of resident in 60s

A fire in an apartment building in Songnim-dong, Incheon, has led to the death of a resident in their 60s. The blaze was reported to the fire department on the afternoon of the 14th, prompting an immediate response.

Firefighters mobilized 61 personnel and 27 pieces of equipment, including pump trucks, to the scene. They successfully extinguished the fire approximately 19 minutes after the initial report, by 3:15 p.m. However, upon entering the affected unit, they discovered the resident, identified as 'A' and in their 60s, deceased inside the living room.

The fire department has indicated that the fire appears to have originated in the living room. Investigations are currently underway to determine the precise cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage.

In addition to the fire investigation, the police are seeking to establish the exact cause of death for the victim. They have requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service. While initial assessments suggest no immediate signs of criminal activity, authorities plan to thoroughly investigate the specific circumstances surrounding the incident.
