Indian Embassy Celebrates Independence Day with Grandeur in Muscat

The Embassy of India in Muscat marked India's 80th Independence Day with a grand celebration, drawing over a thousand members of the Indian diaspora and friends of India. The event commenced with a patriotic rendition of "Vande Mataram" by students from Indian School Al Maabela, setting a tone of national pride.

Ambassador Prashant Pise led the ceremony by hoisting the Indian Tricolour under the "Surya Path Tiranga" theme, a national initiative involving a global digital relay of the flag. He addressed the attendees, sharing key messages from the President of India's address to the nation, reflecting on India's progress and future aspirations. A cultural program showcased the diverse talents within the Indian community in Oman.

The celebration also recognized the vital role of the Indian workforce in Oman, emphasizing their representation of India's diversity and their contribution to strengthening India-Oman relations. In the lead-up to Independence Day, the embassy organized several activities, including painting and quiz competitions, a photography contest, and a Phad painting workshop, all inspired by the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Winners and outstanding participants were honored during the event, alongside achievers from various Indian schools and organizations in Oman. The gathering united artists, students, professionals, and workers, all sharing a common pride in their nation's journey.
