Khareef Dhofar visitor numbers approach half million by end of July 2026

The Khareef Dhofar season in Salalah saw a significant increase in visitors this year, with numbers rising by 6.9% compared to the same period in 2025. Preliminary estimates from the National Centre for Statistics and Information show that by the end of July 2026, the total number of visitors reached 472,449.

Omani nationals constituted the largest segment of tourists, making up 76.3% of the total with 360,531 visitors. Visitors from other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries followed, accounting for 16.6% with 78,356 individuals. Visitors from nationalities outside the GCC numbered 33,562, representing 7.1% of the total.

Travel data also indicated a positive trend in transportation methods. Arrivals via air flights increased by 9.6%, bringing in 117,551 visitors. Land port arrivals saw a 5.9% rise, with 354,898 visitors choosing this mode of travel. The month of July was the peak period, attracting 95.5% of all visitors during the season.
