Indonesia condemns Israel's Gaza attacks, citing hindrance to peace plan

Indonesia has issued a strong condemnation of Israel's continued military actions in the Gaza Strip, denouncing them as a grave breach of international law. The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the attacks deliberately obstruct the Gaza Peace Plan and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis faced by Palestinians.

Jakarta is demanding an immediate and permanent halt to Israel's military operations and full compliance with all ceasefire agreements. The ministry emphasized that attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are unacceptable. This strong stance comes after a deadly Israeli military assault on Sunday, which resulted in the deaths of at least 18 Palestinians, including three children and an unborn infant, with dozens more injured across Gaza.

The escalation occurred merely two days after U.S. President Donald Trump and the Peace Council announced a deal for the second phase of a Gaza ceasefire, set to take effect on October 10, 2025. Despite these peace efforts, violence has intensified. Palestinian officials report that ongoing attacks and strict aid restrictions have undermined the ceasefire, citing thousands of alleged violations that led to 1,230 deaths and 4,076 injuries during the ceasefire period.

Indonesia welcomed the acceptance of the second-phase ceasefire roadmap by Hamas and allied Palestinian factions, viewing it as consistent with UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025) and a crucial step toward ending the conflict. Jakarta also urged all parties to ensure the protection of civilians, medical personnel, and humanitarian workers, and to guarantee the unimpeded delivery of life-saving aid throughout Gaza. The nation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting a credible political process for an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the Two-State Solution.
