Indonesia Opens Applications for 2027 Hajj Organizing Officers

Indonesia's Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced the opening of applications for Hajj organizing officers for both Hajj Pilgrimage Organizing Officers (PPIH) Kloter and PPIH Arab Saudi for the 1448 H/2027 M Hajj season. The application period begins on August 25, 2026, at 13:00 WIB and closes on August 31, 2026, at 23:59 WIB.

Director General of Hajj and Umrah Guidance, Puji Raharjo, emphasized that the selection process will be transparent and accountable, aiming to find individuals who are professional, competent, possess integrity, and are service-oriented. "Hajj officers are not just administrative staff; they are the face of the state's service to pilgrims. Therefore, integrity, competence, and a commitment to service are paramount in this selection," Puji stated in Jakarta on Sunday (August 23, 2026).

The available positions include PPIH Kloter for Religious Guidance and PPIH Arab Saudi roles covering accommodation, catering, transportation, religious guidance, the Media Center Haji, and services for the elderly and disabled. Applicants must be Indonesian citizens, Muslim, physically and mentally healthy, have good integrity and track records, and not be under criminal investigation. They also need a valid ID, active BPJS Kesehatan (health insurance), and computer proficiency.

Specific roles may require additional qualifications such as age limits, experience in religious guidance or handling the elderly and disabled, or a journalism certificate for Media Center Haji positions. The selection stages involve document verification, a Computer Assisted Test (CAT), and a Medical Check-Up (MCU), culminating in an announcement of participants for education and training. The CAT is scheduled for September 5, 2026.

Puji stressed that the entire selection process is free of charge and must be free from gratuity. He urged applicants not to trust anyone who promises them a position. "There are no fees in this selection process. Do not trust anyone who promises you a place. The selection must be clean, objective, and accountable," Puji said. Applications can be submitted via petugas.haji.go.id, and applicants are advised to read all requirements and ensure uploaded documents are correct before submitting.
