Over 1,000 Artworks Displayed at 'Art and Craft for Palestine' Event in Jakarta

Adara Relief International hosted "Art and Craft for Palestine" at Pasaraya Blok M, an event designed to unite the community through artistic expression in support of Palestine and Al-Aqsa. This initiative, a collaboration between Adara, Gerai Adara, the Indonesian Women's Coalition for Palestine (KPMIP), and Rajut Indonesia, also extends internationally through the Hands of Ummah community in Japan.

Since June 2026, Adara has spearheaded a digital movement, successfully collecting over 1,000 diverse artworks from hundreds of artists across Indonesia and Japan. These creations, ranging from digital art and paintings to crafts like knitting, embroidery, soap making, and recycled items, were all exhibited at the event. Notably, the movement included participants with disabilities, demonstrating that limitations do not hinder the expression of creativity and solidarity.

Beyond the art displays, the event fostered engagement through various activities. Visitors received Palestinian-themed keychains as part of a social movement to spread awareness. A special Al-Aqsa-themed solidarity stamp was also available. The program included a Crafter Sharing Session featuring artists who discussed integrating creativity with support for Palestine. Musical performances and poetry readings added to the atmosphere, while a Dabke dance session encouraged audience participation.

Maryam Rachmayani, Director of Adara Relief International, expressed gratitude for the widespread participation. She emphasized that numerous actions, from wearing watermelon pins to carrying Palestinian-themed bags, can amplify the message of support. The "Art & Craft for Palestine" event aims to cultivate this spirit of solidarity through tangible works and concrete actions.
