Indonesia’s attorney general issues seven directives on prosecutors’ anniversary

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin used the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s prosecution service to issue seven daily directives for all Adhyaksa personnel.

Speaking at the Attorney General’s Education and Training Agency in South Jakarta, Burhanuddin first instructed prosecutors to apply religious values in carrying out their duties and making decisions. He also called on them to restore the honor and dignity of the prosecution service as a law-enforcement institution that delivers benefits and justice to the public.

The directives included supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita agenda and priority programs within the prosecution service’s responsibilities. Burhanuddin urged prosecutors to work with conscience, professionalism, truth and justice, while building harmonious cooperation among ministries, institutions and other stakeholders.

He also called for modesty in official duties and daily social life as a sign of integrity and exemplary conduct. The final directive asked prosecutors to remain sensitive to social dynamics and legal developments, and to act quickly and appropriately as circumstances change.

Burhanuddin described prosecutors as being on the front line of law enforcement and guardians of legal sovereignty. He thanked Adhyaksa personnel for their contributions and urged them to keep working with enthusiasm, protect their integrity and pursue justice. The anniversary carried the theme “Restoring Public Trust Through Law Enforcement That Is Integrity-Based, Fair and Humane.”
