Rio Novaldi, Secretary of the DKI Jakarta branch of the Marhaenis Youth Movement (GPM), stressed the importance of unity, particularly in the face of potentially divisive information. He urged the public to be discerning consumers and sharers of information, advising against succumbing to fear or unrest stirred by unverified claims. "We must be wise in receiving and spreading information, and not easily provoked by issues that can cause fear and unrest," Rio stated.

Novaldi highlighted the need for critical thinking in navigating the digital age, where information flows rapidly. He suggested that maintaining a conducive environment involves fostering good communication and ensuring that information sources are clear. "We must not allow hoaxes to disturb the public's sense of security. If information is not clearly true, do not believe it or spread it immediately. Let's check the source and confirm its truth," he urged.

The spirit of independence, according to Novaldi, should also be expressed through mutual respect, open communication, and strengthened community bonds. He believes that a harmonious atmosphere will allow the Independence Day celebrations to truly serve as a moment of national unity. "The spirit of independence must be realized through care, unity, and the awareness to protect the environment from various forms of provocation and false information," he said. Novaldi acknowledged that differing opinions are natural but reiterated that unity must remain paramount, urging citizens to reject hoaxes and negative narratives that could divide the nation.
