President RI's Name Used in Scientific Paper on SSRN Platform, Ministry Investigates

Indonesia's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology is investigating the alleged unauthorized inclusion of President Prabowo Subianto's name, along with other prominent figures, in a scientific paper published on the SSRN platform. Minister Brian Yuliarto confirmed the ongoing probe.

This morning I just received a report from the examining team consisting of the Inspector General and several lecturers," Minister Brian stated in Jakarta. Initial findings from the examination team indicate that the main author unilaterally added the names of important figures to the work without adhering to proper authorization and academic ethical procedures.

Whether in books, in repositories, or in journals, the person concerned admitted that their name was listed without permission. Now, we are confirming this with all the authors," Minister Brian explained.

He further elaborated that the author has acknowledged listing the names without the knowledge or consent of the individuals involved. The ministry is currently in the process of verifying this information with all the listed authors. The investigation aims to clarify the extent of the unauthorized use of names and ensure academic integrity is upheld.
