Indonesian Cybersecurity Firm Zentara Technologies Earns Global AI Management Certification

Indonesian cybersecurity firm Zentara Technologies has achieved a significant milestone by securing the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification, the international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS). This certification, issued by Prescient Security under the International Accreditation Service (IAS), formally recognizes Zentara's commitment to responsible AI governance within its operations.

Regal Rauniyar Star, CEO of Zentara Technologies, highlighted the importance of this standard, especially for sectors with stringent regulations. "This standard demonstrates the importance of accountable AI governance, particularly for sectors with strict regulations," he stated. The ISO/IEC 42001 is the first international standard specifically designed to outline the requirements for AI governance within organizations, covering the entire AI lifecycle from data management and model development to implementation, monitoring, incident handling, and system decommissioning.

The rigorous two-stage audit process involved assessing the practical implementation of policies and controls across various organizational functions. This included Zentara's AI-powered cybersecurity monitoring platforms, AI-driven vulnerability assessment systems, and supporting cloud infrastructure. The audit also encompassed departments such as cybersecurity, IT, compliance, information security, procurement, HR, legal, and R&D.

This new certification builds upon Zentara Technologies' existing credentials, as the company previously obtained ISO/IEC 27001 for its information security management system. Darian Kuswanto, President and Co-founder, emphasized that the ISO/IEC 42001 certification will further strengthen the company's oversight of AI usage. He noted that their AI management system includes an inventory of AI models, a cross-functional governance committee, model evaluation procedures, human oversight, and AI-based audit and incident response mechanisms. Kuswanto believes clear AI governance will become increasingly critical for sectors like banking, government, and vital infrastructure as they adopt AI technologies.
