Indonesian man arrested for aggressive behavior at KLIA, remanded four days

An Indonesian man was arrested and remanded for four days after allegedly becoming aggressive and using abusive language at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The 25-year-old suspect became unruly at a transit counter after his flight to Indonesia was delayed by five hours. He continued his aggressive behavior towards immigration officers before being detained by airport police.

According to KLIA District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner M. Ravi, the incident occurred at Terminal 1 of KLIA around 7 p.m. The suspect was reportedly unhappy about his flight to Indonesia being postponed for five hours. He allegedly hurled insults and threats at airline staff regarding the delay.

When terminal security intervened and escorted the suspect to the Immigration Office, he reportedly became more aggressive and behaved indecently, disobeying instructions from immigration officers. He was subsequently detained by Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) auxiliary police and handed over to the KLIA district police headquarters.

The suspect was brought before the Sepang Court, which granted the four-day remand to aid investigations. The case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act, Section 188 of the Penal Code for disobeying a public servant, and Section 294 of the Penal Code for obscene or indecent words in public. Ravi advised the public to always comply with the instructions of security personnel and airport staff to prevent public disturbance and ensure the safety and smooth operation of KLIA.
