Indonesian Prosecutors Search Nutrition Agency Office After Official Dismissals

The office of Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency (BGN) in Jakarta was searched by prosecutors on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, just hours after three senior officials at the agency were dismissed. The search took place at the BGN office located in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta.

The dismissals occurred on Tuesday night, June 2, 2026, when President Prabowo Subianto removed Dadan Hindayana from his position as Head of BGN. Nanik Sudaryati Deyang was appointed as his successor. Additionally, two deputy positions previously held by retired Inspector General Sony Sanjaya and retired Lieutenant General TNI Lodewyk Pusung were filled by Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono, respectively.

Minister Secretary of State Prasetyo Hadi addressed the search, stating, "If the question is about the information circulating from morning to afternoon today, then of course, first and foremost, yes, let us give the law enforcement apparatus the opportunity to carry out their duties." He urged the public to await the findings of the authorities, framing the ongoing process as part of an effort to enhance governance and management quality across all ministries and agencies.

Mohammad Jeffry, the acting head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, confirmed the search by investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes. Tempo observed security personnel and four prosecutor vehicles at the BGN office early Wednesday morning. A security guard, who requested anonymity, reported that investigators arrived around 2 a.m. with TNI personnel providing security. An employee, who also requested anonymity and identified himself as Ahmad, stated that the search, focused on the second floor which houses the leadership offices, was still ongoing by 11 a.m.
