INE reports appointment system outages; restoration efforts continue

Mexico's National Electoral Institute (INE) is grappling with temporary disruptions to its appointment system, citing an external incident affecting its technological infrastructure. The problem has temporarily hindered the proper operation of the service.

According to the Technical Unit of Informatics Services (UTSI), the disruption was caused by a fiber optic cut impacting the link to the National Population Registry (RENAPO) for CURP (Unique Population Registry Code) consultations. Personnel from the service provider are working to diagnose and resolve the intermittent communication losses at the Nextengo central.

To mitigate the inconvenience, the Citizen Attention Directorate is collecting data from individuals seeking appointments. Once the system is fully operational, the INE will contact these individuals to follow up on their requests and schedule appointments. The institute is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates on the service restoration.
