INEC Recognises PRP Leaders One Month After Convention

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) can breathe a sigh of relief as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has finally updated its portal to reflect the newly elected national leadership. This move comes a full month after our convention in Abuja, a delay that had understandably caused significant unease and speculation among party faithful and the public.

The national leadership of the Peoples Redemption Party has been inundated with enquiries over the absence of the names of key Officers of the Party on the INEC portal, following our successful convention on 28th March, 2026 which was observed by INEC.

For weeks, the absence of our National Chairman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, and other National Working Committee members on the INEC portal cast a shadow of uncertainty. This was despite the convention being duly monitored by INEC officials. The situation was amplified when our National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq, publicly raised concerns, followed by a statement from Chairman Baba-Ahmed himself questioning the delay and reassuring members of the party's legitimacy.

The Party wishes to assure its members, the Public, and those expressing interest in joining the Party that efforts are being made to get INEC to upload these details.

We are pleased that INEC has now rectified this oversight. The update on Friday officially recognizes Baba-Ahmed as National Chairman, Kanu Uchenna as National Secretary, and other key officers. This resolves the brief controversy and affirms the PRP's new leadership, allowing us to move forward with renewed vigor. The party assures all members and prospective joiners that this recognition is a crucial step, and we are actively engaging with the public as registration numbers surge.
