Internal Discord Plagues Malaysian Band Nastia Project Ahead of Concert

The Malaysian band Nastia Project is gearing up for a significant concert on October 16, but the event is overshadowed by internal discord among its members. Vocalist Leo Azman expressed his hope that Jenk and Zach Zainal, two key members, will participate in the upcoming "Nastia Project: Soul Journey" concert, which marks their first major performance since 2015.

In sibling relationships too, sometimes there must be misunderstandings. For me, that's normal. Actually, there was no fight at all.

Currently, Nastia Project operates as a duo, featuring Leo Azman and guitarist Rudy Iskandar. This arrangement stems from internal rifts that have led Jenk and Zach Zainal to temporarily pursue their own paths since the recent Raya celebrations. Azman described the situation as a common occurrence, even within sibling relationships, emphasizing that there hasn't been a major fight but rather a mutual decision to take a break.

This stems from a third party causing Jenk and Zach to lose heart to be with us. This happened recently, around the beginning of this year.

Rudy Iskandar elaborated that the conflict was instigated by a "third party," causing Jenk and Zach to become disheartened about continuing with the band. He stressed that the band's internal bond remains strong, considering Jenk and Zach as the "backbone" of Nastia. Despite respecting their decision to step away, Rudy expressed hope for reconciliation and a future reunion.

Our bond is very strong. The bond as a band is indeed strong. Members who came and went from Nastia before, that's another story. But these two, Jenk and Zack, they are actually the 'backbone' of Nastia.

The remaining members are actively trying to persuade Jenk and Zach to rejoin for the concert, though Rudy acknowledges the challenges, especially given the geographical distance between Kuala Lumpur and Penang. He is making significant efforts to bridge the gap and reunite the original lineup for what is considered a crucial performance. While they are preparing for the possibility that Jenk might not be able to participate, they are also considering contingency plans for his role.

It's just that they are not on the same path in this matter. We respect that decision and still pray there will be a way and space for Nastia to come back together.
