International defender Victor Nelsson returns to Nordsjælland

Victor Nelsson is going back to where it all began. On the final day of the transfer window, FC Nordsjælland completed the return of the Denmark international defender on a four-year deal.

Nelsson joined the club at 11, made his Danish Superliga debut at 17 and grew into one of the division's prominent defenders. FC Copenhagen signed him in 2019, after which he spent two seasons in the capital before moving abroad.

His foreign career took him first to Turkey with Galatasaray and later to Italy, where he had loan spells at Roma and Verona. Nordsjælland football director Alexander Riget called him an international-level defender and said the club was proud to bring back its former player on a long-term contract.

Nelsson, 27, has played 18 matches for Denmark's senior team. He most recently appeared for the national side on March 31 in the decisive World Cup playoff against the Czech Republic.
