Vejle strengthen several positions on final transfer day

Vejle Boldklub added experience and youth on the final day of Denmark’s transfer window, signing defender Gunnar Vatnhamar and midfielder Mathias Jensen.

Vatnhamar, a 31-year-old Faroe Islands international, joined from Icelandic club Víkingur on a four-year contract. He brings 58 international appearances and extensive European club experience. He also played for the Faroese club Víkingur for 10 years until 2023.

Vejle also signed 21-year-old midfielder Mathias Jensen from Superliga club Brøndby. Jensen, who had become surplus to requirements at Brøndby, agreed to a three-year deal.

He described Jensen as a player with untapped potential who would immediately expand the coaching staff’s midfield options.
