Investigation: Fire in Multi-Family Home - No Signs of Arson Found

Initial investigations into a fire that engulfed a multi-family home in Germany's Kassel district have revealed no indications of intentional arson. The blaze tragically claimed the life of a 65-year-old resident who occupied a ground-floor apartment.

The fire broke out early Sunday morning when a resident discovered the flames and alerted emergency services. According to police reports, other residents were awakened and managed to evacuate the building unharmed. The fire, however, caused significant damage not only to the ground-floor apartment but also to units on the first and top floors, the stairwell, and the building's facade.
