Iran Clarifies Stance on Negotiations: "The Nuclear Issue Is Not Included"

Iran has officially responded to recent media speculation surrounding its 14-point proposal, presented via Pakistan to the United States. Ismail Bekayi, the spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, has categorically refuted claims that the proposal addresses nuclear matters or includes commitments like clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Iran's State Television, Bekayi emphasized that the core of the proposal is centered on achieving a cessation of hostilities and establishing a framework for detailed discussions. He stated, "The proposed framework is primarily based on a pause and then addressing the details over a 30-day period. The nuclear issue is not included in these points." This clarification aims to steer the narrative away from assumptions and focus on Iran's stated objectives for de-escalation and dialogue.
