İSKİ Addresses Water Outage in Beykoz Amidst Maintenance Work

Istanbul's water infrastructure, managed by İSKİ, is undergoing essential upgrades to ensure long-term sustainability. While these maintenance efforts are crucial, recent technical glitches have led to temporary disruptions for residents, particularly in the Beykoz district. The Elmalı Pumping Station and Treatment Plant are central to the city's water supply, and the ongoing work aims to prevent future issues.

Our institution provides service with a drinking water infrastructure network exceeding 23 thousand kilometers and a wastewater infrastructure network exceeding 18 thousand kilometers across Istanbul, and carries out maintenance, repair, and renewal activities on a 7/24 basis to ensure the sustainability of the system.

Recent interruptions, including a control room malfunction and a subsequent pipe burst, have caused inconvenience. İSKİ has stated that these are being addressed with utmost urgency, with teams working around the clock. The focus remains on restoring a stable and uninterrupted water supply to all affected neighborhoods, especially those at higher elevations.

Due to technical malfunctions that occurred in the control room after the system was re-watered, an involuntary water cut was applied between 12:00 on 29.04.2026 and 05:00 on 30.04.2026, and the malfunctions were fixed.

While İSKİ assures the public that all necessary measures are being taken, the repeated disruptions highlight the challenges in maintaining such a vast network. The commitment to resolving these issues swiftly and ensuring the system operates at full capacity demonstrates İSKİ's dedication to Istanbul's residents. An additional interruption was made between 12:00 and 16:00 on 02.05.2026 due to a 200 mm diameter pipe failure in the drinking water line after the system was re-watered, and the aforementioned failure was also fixed and water was supplied again.
