Israel Supplies UAE with Advanced "Iron Beam" Laser Defense System Amid Rising Iranian Threats

In a significant development underscoring deepening security ties, Israel has provided the United Arab Emirates with its cutting-edge "Iron Beam" laser weapon system. This advanced technology, capable of vaporizing drones in mere seconds, represents a major boost to the UAE's air defense capabilities. The transfer, reportedly following a phone call between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, also includes the deployment of Israeli military personnel to operate the system.

The move is particularly timely given the escalating threats from Iran. Official figures reveal that the UAE has been targeted by approximately 550 ballistic and cruise missiles and over 2,200 drones launched from Iranian territory between February 28 and April 8. While existing defense systems have intercepted a significant portion of these threats, some projectiles have still impacted civilian and military targets, highlighting the critical need for enhanced protection.

The Iron Beam system is a testament to Israel's rapid technological advancement in defense. Introduced into service only last December, this laser weapon offers a virtually unlimited ammunition supply as long as continuous power is available.
