Israeli Strikes Kill Two in Gaza, Destroy Medicine Storage Warehouses

Israeli forces killed two Palestinians in Gaza and destroyed two warehouses storing medicine near a hospital in separate strikes on Saturday. The Palestinian health ministry reported the casualties in the Sheikh Radwan area of Gaza City, identifying the victims as Palestinians. The Israeli military stated that those targeted were Hamas militants but provided no further details.

The Israeli occupation has committed a heinous crime. In the middle of the night, (the military) targeted a warehouse containing medical supplies for the hospital, and the occupation completely destroyed it.

In an earlier incident, an Israeli airstrike destroyed two warehouses used by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah to store medicine. The Israeli military later claimed it had struck a Hamas hideout near the hospital used for storing weapons, along with other Hamas sites. The military stated these strikes were directed by the Shin Bet intelligence agency, but offered no evidence to support the weapon storage claims.

Reuters footage showed a large crater at the Deir al-Balah strike site, with debris including what appeared to be medical supplies scattered near a tent encampment. The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that two other warehouses storing medicine and the hospital's outpatient clinic were also damaged. There were no immediate reports of injuries from this strike.

Dr. Khalil al-Daqran, a doctor at the hospital, condemned the strike as a "heinous crime." He stated, "In the middle of the night, (the military) targeted a warehouse containing medical supplies for the hospital, and the occupation completely destroyed it." Witnesses reported an evacuation warning was issued before the Deir al-Balah strike. The hospital indicated the destroyed warehouses held essential supplies for kidney failure patients undergoing dialysis, as well as wound care materials. Fatima Sharab, a displaced Palestinian sheltering nearby, noted that many patients sought refuge in the area to be close to the hospital.
