Istanbul: Roads in Bakırköy to Close for Defense, Aviation, and Space Fair

Istanbul is gearing up to host the 5th International Defense, Aviation, and Space Industry Fair, a significant event that will temporarily impact daily commutes in the Bakırköy district. From May 5th to 9th, specific sections of Yeni Havalimanı Caddesi and connecting roads will be closed to traffic between 7 AM and 7 PM to ensure the smooth operation of the fair and for security purposes.

The Istanbul Traffic Control Branch Directorate has proactively released details on the affected routes and provided alternative options for drivers. Key closures include the Yeni Havalimanı Caddesi from the D-100 highway and the coastal direction, as well as a side road connecting to Yeni Havalimanı Caddesi. Commuters are advised to utilize Mimar Basri Mete Sokak, Hanımeli Sokak, and Yeni Havalimanı Caddesi where accessible.
