IT service provider Bechtle increases profit – order backlog reaches record high

IT service provider Bechtle is positioning itself for an upswing, having significantly boosted its inventory in the second quarter to meet a record-high order backlog. The company reported a substantial increase in net profit, which rose by more than a fifth year-on-year to 57.8 million euros. This follows a strong business recovery, especially in June, which prompted Bechtle to raise its annual forecast in late July.

Revenue surged by 16.5 percent to 1.73 billion euros, while profit before tax climbed by a fifth to 80.2 million euros. "Following the excellent development in the first half of the year and with a record order backlog, we are confident that we can maintain our successful course in the second half of the year," stated CFO Christian Jehle. The order backlog stood at 3.5 billion euros at the end of the first half.

Bechtle supplies public authorities and commercial clients, primarily medium-sized businesses, with PCs and network devices, also selling hardware through its own online shop. The company had initially approached the year with caution due to price increases for memory chips, driven by the expansion of data centers and AI infrastructure, which had clouded the outlook for many hardware providers and service companies.
