Jakarta opens Transjakarta route to Ancol beach for Rp3,500

Jakarta residents can now access the Ancol beach area more easily thanks to a new Transjakarta bus route. The special service, dubbed 15ST, connects Bundaran Senayan to the Bundaran Symphony of The Sea in Ancol, operating every Sunday from 6 AM to 10 AM.

This new route aims to provide convenient and affordable public transportation for citizens wishing to enjoy Jakarta's coastal area. For a regular fare of Rp3,500, passengers can travel directly to Ancol, bypassing the need for separate transportation or additional costs to reach the recreational zone.

The service, which uses seven electric buses with a waiting time of 15-20 minutes, has been met with positive reception. Wanti, a resident from East Jakarta, highlighted the cost savings, noting that the Rp3,500 fare includes access to Ancol without an additional entrance fee. Putra, from South Jakarta, appreciated the alternative for outdoor activities, suggesting the service could be extended to weekdays or weekends for greater public benefit.

Governor DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung stated that the route connects two key areas for citizen activity: the central free vehicle zone and the Ancol recreational area. He emphasized the initiative's role in expanding public transport connectivity and encouraging the use of public transit for various purposes, including exercise and recreation.
