Jalaluddin is First Choice for MB if BN Wins

Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias is the preferred candidate for Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar should Barisan Nasional (BN) secure victory in the upcoming state election. BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced this, emphasizing that the final decision rests with the consent of the Negeri Sembilan Ruler.

Hamid said BN does not need to announce a specific 'poster boy' for the Menteri Besar position, as the party boasts numerous qualified leaders. He specifically highlighted Jalaluddin, who also chairs the Negeri Sembilan UMNO Liaison Body, as the primary choice, though he reiterated that the ultimate approval lies with the Ruler. "Insya-Allah, if previously our Menteri Besars performed highly. I am confident that even without naming our 'poster boy' or our candidate for Menteri Besar, it is not necessary because we have too many qualified Menteri Besar candidates," he stated.

Ahmad Zahid expressed confidence that Negeri Sembilan voters are seeking change in the upcoming election. "I do not want to preempt God's judgment, no. But I am also not a political soothsayer. However, I am confident in the feelings of the voters in Negeri Sembilan; they want change, and that change must lead to 'bluing' Negeri Sembilan with the victory of BN candidates," he concluded.
