Jamaica's NaRRA CEO heads to Peru to study resilience reconstruction practices

Ambassador Antony Anderson, CEO of Jamaica's National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA), is set to travel to Peru from August 9 to August 13. His visit aims to deeply examine Peru's rebuilding program and engage with key stakeholders on resilient construction and project implementation.

The trip is supported by the United Kingdom government, which has a history of partnering with Peru on reconstruction initiatives. This collaboration offers NaRRA a valuable opportunity to learn from Peru's globally recognized reconstruction efforts. These projects were completed through a structured partnership with the UK, emphasizing local capacity building alongside infrastructure development, as Jamaica progresses with its own recovery and resilient rebuilding.

This marks Ambassador Anderson's first visit to the South American nation since taking the helm at NaRRA. The authority is currently in its mobilization and operationalization phase. The visit builds upon an earlier UK-facilitated engagement led by Minister without Portfolio, Robert Morgan, in March. During his stay, Anderson will meet with technical experts and officials, and tour major project sites, including hospitals, schools, and health facilities. He will assess firsthand the delivery methodologies and building practices used in Peru's reconstruction following the devastating 2017 El Niño Costero floods.
