Jan Überall appointed new General Secretary of Austrian Ski Association

Jan Überall, the current managing director of the prestigious Hahnenkamm Races in Kitzbühel, is set to take over as the new General Secretary of the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) on September 1. The 38-year-old succeeds Christian Scherer, whose departure after six years at the helm was previously announced.

Überall's appointment was unanimous, receiving full support from the ÖSV's presidential conference. ÖSV President Roswitha Stadlober expressed confidence in Überall, stating he possesses a deep understanding of Austrian and international ski sports, coupled with strong leadership experience. "This unity is a strong signal, both internally and externally," Stadlober remarked.

Mario Stecher, ÖSV Sports Director, emphasized Überall's familiarity with ski sports structures and club systems, alongside his valuable experience in organizing major international events and collaborating with diverse partners. "Together, we aim to further develop the ÖSV both athletically and organizationally," Stecher added.

Überall himself expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him, highlighting the personal importance of the unanimous decision. "Together, we want to continue what has proven successful, set new impulses, and sustainably develop Austrian ski sports," he stated. His background includes a sports science degree and early career roles at the Kitzbühel Ski Club, where he served as General Secretary since 2015. Since 2024, he has also been responsible for the organizational and economic development of the Hahnenkamm Races.
