Jembrana Pantai Mosque Developed into Halal Tourism and Sharia Economy Hub

Masjid Pantai Jembrana in Bali is undergoing a significant transformation, aiming to become more than just a place of worship. The mosque is being developed into a hub for religious tourism, halal tourism, and the sharia economy, with the goal of fostering a comprehensive economic ecosystem.

The initiative seeks to link the hajj and umrah travel sectors with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the creative economy, investment opportunities, and the international trade of local products. This ambitious plan was highlighted during the opening of Gaido Travel's 74th branch at the mosque, an event that also included a panel discussion and monitoring by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH).

Firmansyah, head of the Masjid Pantai Nusantara Foundation and the new branch manager, expressed gratitude for the opportunity. He stated that the foundation will develop programs to make the Jembrana Pantai Mosque a "masjid rahmatan lil alamin" (a mosque that brings mercy to all creation) and a model destination for global tourism, while simultaneously driving the hajj and umrah ecosystem. He emphasized the need for collaboration with BPKH, Gaido Group, local government, businesses, and the community to ensure direct economic benefits for residents.

The development aims to attract Muslim tourists seeking religious and halal experiences in Bali, integrating halal cuisine, local Jembrana products, crafts, and creative economy initiatives. This concept envisions the mosque area as a convergence point for worship, tourism, trade, and community economic empowerment, creating new business opportunities and jobs. The project also seeks foreign investment, particularly from the Middle East, for hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and other halal tourism facilities.
