Jessica Shy quietly enjoys fashion show after record concert run

Jessica Shy stayed away from the photo wall but quietly took her place among the guests at Raimedas Latvys’s fashion show in Vilnius. The singer had just completed a record concert run, drawing nearly 100,000 fans to two concerts at Vingis Park, and came to support the designer’s success.

She was also seen at Wednesday evening’s ELLE Iconic Night. Latvys presented his new collection, “MAX DRAMA,” on Monday. The collection examines a world where people constantly create public personas, compete for attention and try to remain visible in an endless stream of images and information.

“MAX DRAMA” asks where authenticity ends and performance begins, and what remains when the cameras are switched off. The show used an unconventional casting process open to anyone. More than 350 people attended, including professional models and people who had never walked a runway, with different ages, heights, body types and styles.

“This time we are not simply looking for models, but for people who would bring their story, character and real emotion to the runway. I am not interested in whether someone fits the traditional model standard. What matters much more is whether the model is brave enough and confident enough in themselves,” Latvys said.

The casting offered an early glimpse of the show, where the focus was on both the clothes and the very different people wearing them. The collection was presented twice on Monday to a combined audience of about 600 spectators.
